Mrs Phyllis Piper (Greenmount)

The sad death has occurred of one of the great doyennes in Dalmatians with the loss of Mrs Phyllis Piper. Phyllis was 99 and still retained a great interest in our breed.

Phyllis was a true lady and until a few years ago she had upheld the breed’s welfare as together with Gwen Eady many moons ago & later Patches Silverstone Phyllis started Dalmatian Rescue one of the first breed rescue organisations ever to be set up.

Over the years they rehomed hundreds of our breed, a daunting enough task.
Mrs Piper & her late husband John’s prefix of Greenmount has also played a large part in the history of Dalmatians.

A most respected lady who will be greatly missed, ‘Philly’ Piper as she was commonly known was to be seen around the ring well after she gave up showing & was always approachable and willing to give advice to both new & old Dalmatianists.
