Wellbeloved launches ‘Tails Of Achievement’ Awards

EVERY DOG is special to his or her owner - but some have got real 'Tails of Achievement' to tell.
The first James Wellbeloved and Association of Pet Dog Trainers' "Tails of Achievement" Awards is a new national competition launched this week to recognise and reward some of Britain's most exceptional dogs.

Fifteen regional winners, plus a guest - and their dog of course - will be invited to take part in the National Final at Newbury Racecourse on September 2 2006, where the overall winner will be announced.

Achievement is what the dog makes it, so the organisers believe winners could be widely different. It could be the rescue dog who's overcome his suffering; the dog who serves the community in some way - perhaps visiting hospitals or the elderly; a sporting or working dog who has gone the extra mile; the family pet who has made a special difference; or simply an old dog who's learnt new tricks in his twilight years.

The top dog and owners will win a package of prizes including a weekend at a dog-friendly country house hotel with runners-up prizes too. All 15 regional winners plus their dog and a guest will be treated to a champagne reception and gala lunch at the final itself on September 2, 2006.
Entry is open to anyone whose dog has been trained with a member of the APDT, Britain's leading dog training body with over 500 members countrywide. The Awards are organised by James Wellbeloved, makers of naturally pure, hypo-allergenic complete foods for dogs (and cats).

To enter, tell us about your dog's achievements and what makes him so special in your eyes. Entries must be on a single side of A4 paper, typed or clearly handwritten, and must include the owner's name, address, daytime and mobile phone numbers, along with the dog's name, age and breed or type, plus a photo of the dog. The name and registration number of the APDT trainer visited must be included. Entrants must be over 18, or have the signed permission of a parent or guardian if younger.

Entries should be sent to: Charlotte Mann, James Wellbeloved, 25 Brympton Way, Yeovil, Somerset BA20 2JB, to arrive by FRIDAY, JUNE 30 2006.
