Kennel Club’s Dog Photographer of the Year Competition 2006

DON’T MISS your chance to have your dog’s photograph displayed at London’s leading canine event, Discover Dogs 2006 at Earls Court in November!

Entries for the Kennel Club’s Dog Photographer of the Year competition close on August 31 so there is still time to get your favourite photograph in and for budding snappers aged 16 and over there are four categories to choose from

Dogs at Work
Dogs at Play
Dog Portrait
Man’s Best Friend

There is also a category for young photographers under 16 years of age entitled ‘I love dogs because…’

The winning photograph from each of the five categories will be on display at Discover Dogs 2006 and these five winners will also receive an oil painting reproduction of their image courtesy of Everly Originals. For more information about the Discover Dogs event and the competition, please visit www.the-kennel-club.org.uk.

In addition, the overall winning image will be reproduced on the front cover of a special photography edition of the Kennel Club’s flagship publication, the Kennel Gazette. The winner of the Young Photographer category will also receive a digital camera.

Entry to the competition is £3.50 per person with a maximum of four photographs per person. Entrants may only enter one photograph in each category. Entry into the Young Photographer category is free of charge. Any profit made from the competition will be donated to the Kennel Club Charitable Trust (registered charity number 327802) – making a difference for dogs.

Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club Secretary, explains ‘This is a great opportunity to capture how dogs bring happiness and joy through work and play. There is still plenty of time to enter before the competition deadline, which is the 31st August. We would like to encourage people young and old to make the most of this unique opportunity, which is not only a bit of fun but also raises funds for a very important cause which seeks to improve the health and welfare of our canine friends.’
