Dogs die in Norfolk virus outbreak

Forty-three dogs have so far died or been put down in the horrifying wake of an outbreak of the highly infectious parvovirus in Norfolk.

Local vets have warned dog owners that any unvaccinated pet is at high risk of infection.

The local branch of the RSPCA runs a weekly vaccination clinic at the Paws centre in Norwich.

A spokeswoman for Norwich City Council said: ‘We urge people to get their dogs vaccinated against the virus and if their dog feels unwell and they believe it to have the virus they should contact their local vet straight away.’
