A dog has miraculously escaped injury after falling 45ft down a disused mine shaft.

Twenty month old Obi was out with a shooting party in Gwynedd, North Wales when he suddenly disappeared from his owner’s view. Obi had crashed through undergrowth covering the entrance to the mineshaft and costguards had to use climbing equipment to lift the dog out.

Although initially suffering shock Obi has now made a full recovery.
