Crufts 2006 entry second highest ever

The number of dogs entered for Crufts 2006 is the second highest ever in the event’s illustrious 115 year history, surpassed only by the Crufts Centenary show in 1991, its first year in its current home, the NEC, Birmingham.

The 2006 event will see a total of over 24,600 entries from a figure of over 22,200 dogs, showing a total increase of just under 4% greater than last year.

Kennel Club Secretary Caroline Kisko said : "We are delighted with the entry figure for this year’s event, which once again confirms Crufts’ status as the largest dog show in the world. Our Centenary show in 1991 was a resounding success and we will be aiming to ensure that this year’s show is just as successful, if not more so."
