Working docked breeds all set to lobby parliament

A HUNDRED docked working dogs and their handlers from across the country will belobbying parliament on Wednesday, February 8th to protest at proposals to ban the docking of working dogs’ tails under the Animal Welfare Bill.

The lobby is organised by the British Association for Shooting and Conservation who have taken the initiative in the fight to reverse the Government’s plans for an outright docking ban, after it gave in to pressure from anti-docking propaganda from the RSPCA, BVA and Dogs Trust.

The Lobby will gather at midday on St Stephen’s Green in front of the Houses of Parliament, where they will meet MPs. After this, they will deliver letters to Downing Street and to Secretary of State Margaret Beckett at DEFRA.

Details of the campaign can be seen at www.basc.org.uk
