CONGRATULATIONS TO Sue Ellis’ Alaskan Malamute Ch Chayo Blue Thunder on becoming the breed’s first champion at last weekend’s Paignton Championship show.

‘Blue’ pictured above with Mr Terry Thorn, Mr Jack Bispham and group judge Mrs Zena Thorn-Andrews, and bred, owned and handled by Sue, became the breed’s first UK champion after winning his first CC at SKC under Mr Terry Thorn, second at Blackpool under Mr Dave Killilea and third at Paignton where Mr Jack Bispham was the judge.

He also has to his credit three Group 1s, seven Group 2s, five Group 3s, eight Group 4s and 35 BOBs.

He was Top Malamute Puppy in 2002 followed by Top Malamute in 2003, 2004, 2005 and is currently top in the breed this year.

Blue’s daughter C Moet Chandon was the first UK bred bitch to gain a CC at Crufts under by Mrs Zena Thorn Andrews.

Of the eight tickets that have been awarded to date the Chayo kennel has won five of these. Quite a record!
