IT IS with sadness we report the news of the death of the Shar Pei breed record holder, Linda Smith’s Champion Bellicose Head Case.

Casey won 24 CCs in her illustrious career, following her first ticket with 10 consecutives CCs, and took many group placings as well as winning the Champion stakes on three occasions.

As a youngster she attended four open shows and went BIS three times. Her biggest win was her Best in show at WKC, and remains the only Shar Pei to achieve this.

Linda says: “Casey was a real ambassador for the breed, she never ever grumbled at anything or anyone and could often be seen in the group ring trying to encourage whichever dog was next to her to play with her. She kissed and cuddled many of the judges and knew no strangers.

“Thankfully one of her daughters went to the USA and I will be having a puppy back from her.”
