BETA, the specialist exclusive complete dry dog food range from Purina, is pleased to announce its fifth annual BETA Gundog Weekend on 29-30 April 2006.
Taking place for the first time at Cirencester Park, Gloucestershire, by kind permission of Lord Bathurst, the BETA Gundog Weekend is a unique event where Any Variety (AV) retrievers, English Springer spaniels, Cocker spaniels, Any Variety (AV) spaniels and HPRs are run at the same venue. The event will be supported through the launch of a new website www.purina-beta.co.uk, advertising in key country titles and a four month PR campaign.
This year BETA is championing the cause of endangered native gundog breeds, like the Curly Coat Retriever and Irish Red and White Setter. Visitors will have the chance to see these rare breeds in action in the ring and to learn more about their different personalities and suitability as either pets or working companions. The Discover Gundogs Exhibition, where all 34 Kennel Club registered gundog breeds will be on show, also offers the only chance to see the entire Gundog family altogether in one place.
The event welcomes gundogs and handlers at all levels and ages. As well as the main tests, there will be scurries, pick-ups, lottos, lost retrieves and launched retrieves on offer with over £1,000 worth of prizes up for grabs.
Ana Catton, BETA Brand Manager, comments: “The BETA Gundog Weekend is a flagship annual event for the brand, attracting over 3,000 people and is enjoyed by spectators and competitors alike. For us the event epitomizes the unique personality of our brand - active, adventurous, and aspirational - whilst also emphasising the partnership between dog and handler. The event is considered to be the ‘best of the tests’ gundog weekend in the UK and is a demonstration of BETA’s continued commitment to gundogs and pets alike.”
Leading training advisors and nutrition experts will also be on hand over the two days to offer helpful hints and tips. For further sales information call Nestlé Purina 0208 336 3770 /3779* or visit www.purina-beta.co.uk for more information on the event.
