KC launches letter campaign on Electric Shock Collars

The Kennel Club has produced large postcards for supporters of a ban on the sale and use of electric shock collars to send to their local MP’s or MSP’s in time for the Report Stage debate taking place on March 14th in Westminster, and the Stage 2 debate taking place on March 15th in the Scottish Parliament.

Given that MPs will likely be given the chance to vote for a ban on the sale and use of electric shock collars at this stage of the Animal Welfare Bill’s passage, the KC believes it is crucial that your MP knows your views on these callous and unnecessary training devices.

In order to gain as much parliamentary support as possible and inform MPs and MSPs about the cruelty associated with the use of electric shock collars, the Kennel Club is urging all readers to download their large postcard from the Kennel Club website at www.the-kennel-club.org.uk/pressoffice/documents/KC-ElectricPostcard-060223.pdf and send this to their local MP.

Scottish readers will also find a version of the card to send to their local MSP at www.the-kennel-club.org.uk/pressoffice/documents/Scottishpcard.pdf

To find out who your local MP is, please visit www.locata.co.uk/commons/ or contact the House of Commons switchboard on 020 7219 3000

For hard copies of the cards, please contact Holly Lee, Kennel Club Public Affairs Officer on pressoffice@the-kennel-club.org.uk or hlee@the-kennel-club.org.uk or 020 7518 1020. The cards will also be available at various Kennel Club stands during Crufts.
