OBITUARY: Mrs M Castle

It is with great sadness that I have to report the death of Mrs Mollie Castle of the Oakridges Prefix. Mollie sadly passed away last week and the funeral will have been held by the time this gets into print.

Mollie bred under the famous Oakridges prefix and was breeding and showing when I first entered the breed. She had lots of beautiful champions and was always ready to help along the newer members of the breed.

She was one of the few people who allowed newcomers to use her stud dogs and I imagine that the Oakridges prefix will be behind a lot of the dogs in the ring today.

Mollie had not shown or bred for a few years due to her having a stroke. Even so she still kept her interest in the breed and attended the Northern Club show and Leeds Ch show accompanied by her loving son John who lovingly cared for her for the last years of her life.

Our thoughts are with her twin sister Sheila and all her family, especially John.
