Westbury & District Canine Society honoured its Crufts winning members at their April match, held at Chapmanslade Village Hall, holding a ‘Parade of winners’ during the refreshment break for those present. Approximately two-thirds of the total ring craft membership of 58, successfully qualified one or more of their dogs for Crufts and made the annual trek to the NEC last month.

The April match was judged by Colin Bawden, with Zorana’s Irish Setter winning best Veteran, Pat’s Whippet best Puppy and Sue’s Rottweiler best Adult and also taking the trophy for Best in Match. Matches are held on the second Wednesday in the months of March to July and September to November inclusive, with members accumulating points throughout the year to qualify for the Christmas match in December.

‘The parade of Crufts winners’ is the first of several new inclusions in this year’s calendar. For details of further activities contact Wendy Tarrant on 01373 824 986.
