Action film star Jackie Chan’s golden retriever has gone missing leaving him "heartbroken".

The 15-month-old dog, Jones, ran off from a home in Hong Kong's busy Mong Kok shopping district, where a gate was left open on Saturday, a posted statement said.

Chan's employees spent hours scouring the neighborhood for Jones but didn't find him immediately, the website said. "Jackie is understandably heartbroken since he and Jones have a very close bond," the statement said.

Chan is offering a "substantial" reward to any one who provides information leading to the recovery of Jones
