Beach ban for dogs

Dogs are to be banned from Morecambe’s beaches during the summer. They will not be allowed on the resort’s North Beach from May to September. Dogs were already banned on the South Beach two years ago.

Council staff and dog wardens will monitor the area and will have the power to issue on-the-spot fines to owners.

The plan is in line with a scheme to keep Morcambe’s beaches cleaner and safer for visitors during the busy summer months.
