Walk a dog to school day
AS THE School Summer holidays near their end, thoughts turn again to term time and the joys of the daily school run.
This is the idea put forward by Battersea Dogs’ & Cats’ Home as they call on school children to take part in the charity's annual Walk a Dog to School Day.
Supported by TV presenter Gail Porter and model Rachel Hunter, Walk a Dog to School Day is a fun event which encourages kids, teachers and parents across the country to leave the car at home.
This year's sponsored walk, takes place on Wednesday, 10th October, and the Home would like children across the UK to sign up for the event.
TV presenter and fellow dog lover Gail Porter said: ‘ We'd like children of all ages, parents and teachers to take part in this year's Walk a Dog to School Day, which provides a fun alternative to the usual school run.’
Fellow supporter Rachel Hunter commented: ‘Come on kids! Walk a Dog to School Day for Battersea Dogs & Cats Home. It's a wonderful opportunity to support the UK's most famous rescue centre, and you can have some fun while you're doing it!’
