Kennel Club of Jersey Summer Championship Show 2007
The Kennel Club of Jersey has just held their Summer Championship Show at the Royal Jersey Showground on one of the hottest days of the year. Three judges came over; Mrs Margaret Everton judged the Terrier, Working and Pastoral Groups; Mrs Brenda Taylor the Toy and Gundog Groups and Mr Peter Taylor the Utility and Hound Groups.
In the Terrier Ring the Best of Breeds were Jamie Laffoley and Steven Edwards' Scottish Terrier, Yeloffal Rough Trade; Russell and Christine Marett's Cesky Terrier, Lastarean Kral of Zidout; Tom and Ella Stewart's Border Terrier, Bramblebee Little Big Man, handled by their son Corey; Angela Steel's Bull Terrier, Bullyview Poetry in Motion; Peter Walker's Skye Terrier, Finnsky Future with Petwalk; Mark Fletcher and Angie Seedhouse's Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Granitangel Red Giant and Jackie Hurley's Bedlington Terrier, Fralex Culibre Sapphire. The Challenge Certificate went to the Skye Terrier his third which has made him up as a Jersey Champion (subject to KCJ confirmation) with the Reserve Challenge Certificate and Best Puppy in Group going to the Bedlington Terrier. Group 3 was the Cesky and the Scottish Terrier was Group 4. Reserve Best Puppy was Phillips' Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Berwickonian Bewitched. Best Junior and Novice was Simoes and West's Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Kerods Midnight Twist. Best Yearling was Jamie Laffoley and Steven Edwards' Scottish Terrier, Yeloffal Rough Trade and Best Veteran was Russell and Christine Marett's Cesky Terrier, Malsville Lincoln Ridley.
The Working Group Best of Breeds were Caroline Facey's Giant Schnauzer, Foxwood Hugo Boss; Margaret Bayes's Boxer, Docrema Millionaire; Alison Battrick's Great Dane, Sarawen Black Queen of Jancerie; Sue Warn's Siberian Husky, Jsy Ch Lapatka Spirit Wolf and Julie and Robert Virk's Tibetan Mastiff, Montasamara Lhot-Se. The Boxer won the Challenge Certificate whilst the Reserve Challenge Certificate went to the Siberian Husky. Group 3 was the Great Dane and the Giant Schnauzer was Group 4. Best Puppy, Junior and Novice in Group was Margaret Bayes's Boxer, Docrema My Boy Madge and her Docrema Mystic Meg was Best Yearling. Julie and Robert Virk's Tibetan Mastiffs were Best Brace in Group.
The Alsatian (GSD)'s were the first in for the Pastoral Group with the Best of Breed going to
Bobby and Barbara Lawrence's Penwartha Apache Arrow; Other Best of Breeds were Valery Johnson's Shetland Sheepdog, Myndoc Wytch Craft at Mohnesee JW; Louise Skittrall's Samoyed, Novaskaya Moonlite Spirit; Dianne Taylor and Freda Le Page's Border Collie, Westirene Bonny Belle; Collette Allo Allen's Rough Collie, Ribans Sweet Fantasy; David and Carol Turner's Australian Shepherd, Am Ch Harmonyhill Satin Funnycideman at Chakona; Rachel Martel's Bearded Collie, Geliland Sea Chariot and Annabelle Le Page's Pembrokeshire Welsh Corgi, Elessar Latest Rumour about Thelepees. Winning the Challenge Certificate was the Australian Shepherd with the Reserve Challenge Certificate going to the Samoyed. Group 3 and Best Novice in Group was the Bearded Collie and the Border Collie Group 4. Best Puppy and Junior in Group went to Kath Barette's Border Collie, Dayrush Double Dodge. Best Yearling was Collette Allen's Rough Collie, Brooklynson Diamond Rock with Ribans and she was also successful in the Brace with her Rough Collies whilst Best Veteran was David and Carol Turner's Alsatian (GSD), Chakona's Hawaiian Wonder.
Best of Breeds in the Toy Ring were Fiona Officer's Bichon Frise, Honeyvale Neige Emiette; Pat Dale and Pat Michel's Pekingese, Ksarina Designers Dream P d'H; Fiona Officer's Chinese Crested, Shipstone I Got Rhythm; Pauline Morgan's Papillon, Tutyak Brodie and Julian Schofield's Pomeranian, Thelbern Bold As Brass at Rudoli. Winning the Challenge Certificate was the Pomeranian and the Reserve Challenge Certificate went to the Pekingese. Group 3 and Best Puppy and Junior was the Papillon and the Bichon Frise was Group 4. Reserve Best Puppy was Pat Dale and Pat Michel's Pekingese, Yakee Equal opportunity at Ksarina and Puppy Group 3 was Thelma Alsford's Pomeranian, Thelbern Glitz N Glamour. Best Novice in Group went to Julian Schofield's Pomeranian, Thelbern Waltzong Matilda at Rudoli and Trevor and Pearl Bayliss's Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Whyteplace Touch of Heaven for Lassiby was Best Veteran in Group.
The English Springer Spaniels started the Gundog Group with Best of Breed going to Lynn Ozanne's Trimere True Style at Lyntonridge; Other Best of Breeds were Pam Smith's Welsh Springer Spaniel, Tachwedd Tegan; Lynn Jeune's Clumber Spaniel, Jubilwell Rebel Alliance; Rosemary Evans' Labrador Retriever, Taleem Once In A While; Ro and Nigel Cox's Irish Setter, Tiroen Taylormade P d'H; Di and Art Le Page's Cocker Spaniels Salabah Sorceress; Christianne Creber's Weimaraner, Oakmoreton Ptarmigan; Sandra and David Bouchere's Tenfield Raceway; Marshall's German Shorthaired Pointer, Pipperoo Musagetes and David and Carol Turner's English Pointer, , Clamerkin Come Closer to Chakona. The Challenge Certificate went to the English Springer Spaniel with the Reserve Challenge Certificate going to the Labrador. Group 3 was the German Shorthaired Pointer and the Irish Setter was Group 4. Best Puppy, Junior and Novice in Group went to Andrew Baudains Labrador, Rocheby Brigadoon at Beauvoir whilst Best Yearling was Pam Smith's Welsh Springer Spaniel, Tachwedd Tegan. David and Carol Turner's English Pointer, Clamerkin Come Closer to Chakona was Best Veteran and Lucy Baudains was successful with her Labradors in Brace.
The following were Best of Breeds in the Utility Group, Bob and June Shorto's Tibetan Spaniel, Mulltye Kit-Si; Jean Thoume's Miniature Poodle, Idadoun Black'n' Dreamy; Sue Whitehead and Rachel Le Masurier's Tibetan Terrier, Araki Fantastic Willy; Brian and Sally Rousseau's Bulldog, Shiloh High & Mighty at Dimkas; Peter Walker's Lhasa Apso, Khalila Justin Credible for Petwalk; Jackie Hurley's Toy Poodle, Fralex Dark Wings; Marion Dingle's French Bulldog, Inyawood Miss Brodie; Katherine Bisson's Japanese Spitz, Leymun Kami Tako and Sarah Cooper's Shih Tzu, Harropine New York City Boy at Zafonic. Winning the Challenge Certificate was the Shih Tzu with the Lhasa Apso getting the Reserve as well as Best Junior, Yearling and Novice in Group. Group 3 went to the Toy Poodle and the Tibetan Terrier was Group 4. Best Puppy in Group went to Peter Walker's Lhasa Apso, Faerdorn Gold Charm with Petwalk whilst his Ch Ragoosa Just Jolly at Oraysha was Best Veteran and he was also successful in the Brace with his Lhasa Apsos.
Best of Breeds in the Hound Group were Stuart and Pamela Mottershaw's Afghan Hound, Int/Lux/Ger Ch Jacosta Black In A Flash to Elangeni (IMP); Violet Gorin's Borzoi, Zovertoff Zoran; Sarah Woodhouse's Beagle, Timamso Maestro of Birybarn; Peter Walker's Whippet, FCI/Int/Ir Ch Barnesmore Goes Zafonica; Cottrell's Mini Long Haired Dachshund, Garbosa Cocoa at Woodflame; Annabelle Le Page's Long Haired Dachshund, Neropa Jet Black Jute; Lisa Goodall's Wire Haired Dachshund, Gayteckles Seaexpectation at Renlott P d'H and Le Brun's Rhodesian Ridgeback, Eilack Gyasi. Winning the Challenge Certificate was the Whippet with the Reserve Challenge Certificate going to the Beagle. Group 3, Best Yearling and Novice was the Long Haired Dachshund and the Afghan Hound was Group 4. Fiona Officer's Whippet, Eeri Norwegian Wood was Best Puppy in Group and Le Marguand's MiniLong Haired Dachshund, Halunke Mischief Man was Reserve Best Puppy. Peter Walker's Whippet, Barnesmore Say No More with Petwalk was Best Junior and he also won Best Brace with his Whippets whilst Stuart and Pamela Mottershaw's Afghan Hound, Jsy Ch Barjoni Secret Desire for Elangeni was Best Veteran in Group.
The rings were then joined and with the temperature still rising; Mrs Margaret Everton stepped forward to judge Best in Show and gave it to Peter Walker's Whippet, FCI/Int/Ir Ch Barnesmore Goes Zafonica with Reserve Best in Show going to David and Carol Turner's Australian Shepherd, Am Ch Harmonyhill Satin Funnycideman at Chakona. Jackie Hurley's Bedlington Terrier, Fralex Culibre Sapphire won Best Puppy in Show with Andrew Baudains Labrador, Rocheby Brigadoon at Beauvoir getting Reserve Best Puppy and Junior in Show. Best Novice and Yearling in Show went to Peter Walker's Lhasa Apso, Khalila Justin Credible for Petwalk and his Ch Ragoosa Just Jolly at Oraysha won Best Veteran in Show with Stuart and Pamela Mottershaw's Afghan Hound, Jsy Ch Barjoni Secret Desire for Elangeni Getting the Reserve Veteran in Show. Julie and Robert Virk's Tibetan Mastiffs were Best Brace in Show.
Mrs Brenda Taylor then stepped forward and awarded the Exhibitors Perpetual Shield to Ruth Philippe's Golden Retriever, Katesclan Miss Appropriate and Brood Bitch to her Sandalgem Joyfulness. Stuart and Pamela Mottershaw's Whippet, Barnesmore Let It Be for Elangeni won Stud Dog. The Team Trophy was won by Christine and Russell Marett's Cesky Terriers. Best Channel Islands Bred Adult and Best Sporting was Mark Fletcher and Angie Seedhouse's Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Granitangel Red Giant and Best Non Sporting was Margaret Bayes's Boxer, Docrema Millionaire. Special Vintage went to Ro and Nigel Cox's Irish Setter, Sametuz Mak'n Waves at Tiroen and the Piggy Bank Stakes was won by Stuart and Pamela Mottershaw's Whippet, Eeri Stormy Weather at Elangeni. The Handling Classes were judged by Art Le Page and winning the 6-11 years was Corey Stewart and the 12-16 years was Elisha Wilson who was also the overall winner. Russell Marett won the Senior Handling.
