Foot and mouth: Richmond hangs on

Despite rumours of cancellation circulating last week Richmond committee is keeping in close contact with various agencies after its Loseley Park venue near Guildford fell into the ‘surveillance zone’ established by DEFRA.

The society issued the followed statement last Monday which said that ‘No decision will be made regarding the possible re-location, postponement or cancellation of the show until it has become clear whether or not the outbreak of the disease has been successfully contained.

‘The Officers and Committee of Richmond Dog Show Society are actively considering contingency planning arrangements and consultations with the owner of the venue, DEFRA and The Kennel Club are ongoing. Further announcements will be made as the situation becomes clearer.’
