Welsh Kennel Club arrangements
Due to the adverse wet weather conditions experienced at the recent Royal Welsh Agricultural Society Show, the main show ring situated on the lower area of the showground, adjacent to the RWAS Grandstand, has been rendered unsuitable for the siting of dog show rings, writes Graham Hill. This area will now be used for benching only.
Those breeds usually benched and judged on the Main Ring will still be benched there, but will be judged in rings on the upper area of the Showground, on grass and under cover.
On all three days, those breeds usually judged in rings 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12, will be benched as usual and judged in wet weather rings on the lower area. They are as follows;
Day 1 - Dachshunds & Greyhounds
Day 2 - Bernese Mountain Dogs, Boxers, Bearded Collies, Collies - Smooth & Rough, Giant Schnauzers
Day 3 - Flat Coats, Irish Red & White, Curly Coats
Those breeds usually judged on the upper area of the Showground, on grass, will be benched in the same location as in previous years, but will be judged in rings that are usually designated for wet weather use.
We apologise to exhibitors whose benching may be sited some distance from their show ring. Under the circumstances we hope exhibitors will understand the necessity for these arrangements.
WKC will endeavour to give as much assistance as possible to exhibitors where needed.
Caravans will be admitted to the showground from 10 August. However, some areas may be unsuitable for the siting of caravans but other areas have been made available.
