Boxer owner fined after attack

The owner of a Boxer dog which attacked a three-year-old child outside her home was fined £300 earlier this week.

The dog jumped had jumped on the child and scratched her chest. Her injuries required hospital treatment.

Andrew Sailes, of Abbey Park, Belfast, admitted keeping the dog which attacked and injured the girl.

A lawyer for Belfast City Council said the girl's mother reported the attack. The seven-year-old dog was destroyed voluntarily by the owner. A defence lawyer said the animal had "never been in any trouble before and this was not a biting case".
