Crufts FM, the dedicated radio station for the world's greatest dog show will be broadcast by GlobeCast, the largest international satellite TV and radio content distributor, at the 2007 show.
Crufts FM, will broadcast from a purpose built studio within The NEC and
transmit around The NEC and areas that cover the 106.8fm frequency. This
means that exhibitors and visitors can hear the latest news and updates
whilst driving to the venue. One hour highlight shows will also be
available as downloadable podcasts from the show at the end of each day.
But the excitement starts even before Crufts begins as preview programmes will run for the four Wednesdays before the event with all the latest news in the run up, which will also be available as downloadable podcasts and on the website so visitors can start planning their visit to Crufts well in advance to ensure they don¹t miss out on all the new attractions this year's show has to offer.
For those who are not able to make it to the show, Crufts FM is also broadcast on the Sky Digital platform on Channel Zero 157 and across the world on the web via the Crufts website www.crufts.org.uk.
The content of Crufts FM reflects the show. The "Breakfast Show" looks ahead to the day's events, mixing news, previews and music with traffic and travel news. The mornings tend to be led by the station's reporters bringing live interviews from the various halls with celebrities, features and all the events and displays from the rings.
The afternoon gets even busier as the team endeavour to track down as many of the winners as possible. The reporters are on hand for reaction interviews from owners and the results are broadcast on the Crufts FM newsdesk which is aired every 30 minutes. Programmes continue until 10pm with studio guests, reviews of the day and coverage from the new Arena announcing the various winners who will go through to Best in Show.
"Crufts FM is packed full of news and information. We are excited this year to be able to offer downloadable podcasts so visitors can listen to all the highlights at the end of each day of the show, ensuring that even if people couldn't make it to the show, or are planning on coming on another day, they don¹t have to miss out!", said Bob Mills, Executive Producer.
