Darlington needs you!

The Committee of Darlington Dog Show Society is keen to encourage people who would be interested in learning more about the organisation of a Championship Show either by assisting in the day to day running during the year or for the period of the show.

It has long been a policy of the Society to encourage younger people in showing their dogs by scheduling the KCJO and YKC Stakes classes. Mr Robert Harrison has helped the Society from a very young age, and from the ranks of the KCJO he has been nurtured to progress to his present position as Show Manager.

One, as a YKC member, came on to the Committee to learn more about the organisation and management and left us to became a Breed Club Secretary and Assistant Secretary of a General Championship Show. Another, also a YKC member, has been with the Society for a number of years now and serves on the Committee as an Associate Member, working her way through the various departments, extending her knowledge of the Championship Show work.

Any person who would be interested in being considered by the Committee to assist the Society in any way in a voluntary capacity should make application initially to the Secretary, Mrs Freda N Marshall, Gainspa, 1 Butler Road, Newton Aycliffe, Co. Durham DL5 5LU giving in writing, a brief CV with their special interest in the canine world and any qualities which they feel would make them an asset to a Championship Show team.
