BETA heads for Bucks

BETA, the complete dry dog food range from Purina, is pleased to announce its sixth annual BETA Gundog Weekend on 5-6 May 2007.

Taking place for the first time in the beautiful grounds of Claydon House, Buckinghamshire, the BETA Gundog Weekend is a unique event which celebrates the incredible world of Gundogs. Here you can experience one of the rare opportunities to see Any Variety (AV) retrievers, English Springer spaniels, Cocker spaniels, Any Variety (AV) spaniels and HPRs all being run at the same venue.

Set amongst some of the most unspoilt, National Trust run countryside the event welcomes Gundogs and handlers of all levels and ages. As well as the main tests, there will also be a number of events for visitors to enter on the day including scurries, pick-ups, lottos, lost retrieves and launched retrieves, with over £1,000 worth of prizes up for grabs.

For those thinking of getting a new dog, or wishing to learn more about the different breeds in the Gundog group, come and see the Discover Gundogs Exhibition where all 34 Kennel Club registered gundog breeds will be on show. All of the breeds are from working backgrounds and will be accompanied by experts, so it is a great opportunity to learn about an alternative breed if you’d like a change, or, if you are looking to get your first dog, seeing which breed is right for you.

Back by popular demand, the BETA Gundog Weekend is again proud to feature the endangered native breeds and lend them its support.

Leading training advisors and nutrition experts will also be on hand over the two days to offer helpful hints and tips. Entry to the BETA Gundog Weekend is free for spectators and all attendees will also have the opportunity to visit Claydon House and its lovely gardens on the day.

To enter the main tests, visit www.purina-beta.co.uk where you can download an entry form. Alternatively, send a large SAE to Fleetapple Lodge, Maker Lane Farm, Hoar Cross, Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire, DE13 8QR or email beta-eventsec@fleetapple.plus.com to request the form.
