Some of those who participated in the Sponsored Dog Walk
The Notts & Derby District Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club organised a Sponsored Dog Walk in the form of a circular mile walk around Chatsworth Park in the Peak District on a beautiful, sunny day last autumn, writes Secretary Jenny Smith.
A total of 25 adults, four Children and 20 dogs participated in the walk which raised £2742. These proceeds were divided equally between The Nottingham University Hospitals Charity (specifically the Special Baby Care Unit - £1371) and SBT Rescue (Leicestershire SBT Rescue and ‘Barbara Green’s’ SBT Rescue) the latter portion was ‘rounded up’ so that each Rescue received £700.50.
Presentations of the ‘big cheques’ took place at our Christmas Open Show on Sunday 10 December. In addition, the Club made presentations to acknowledge the outstanding contribution of Jayne Winrow, who individually raised a total of £1030 and the Studholme family who raised £950 towards the overall total. We wish to acknowledge with thanks the contribution of those who took part and in particular, the generosity of all the sponsors.
