Dogs walk for charity

ENTHUSIASTIC dog walkers went on a four-mile trek to raise money for charity.

There were 22 people on the walk, which started in Cemetery Road, Farnworth, went up to Crompton Lodges, where the dogs had a rest, and then back. Lynne Jordan, who owns 4 Pets Sake, a grooming salon in Cemetery Road, organised the event in a bid to raise money for St Ann's Hospice in Cheadle, Cheshire, where her aunt recently died.

She said: "It was a lovely sunny day and we really enjoyed it. "The money is still being counted, but we hope to raise about £2,000. I was very close to my aunt, who was well looked after at St Ann's Hospice.
