At its meeting on 24 April 2007, the General Committee approved the introduction of two more Championship Shows, taking the number of Obedience certificates available from 44 to 46 with effect from 2008. This is due to the Crufts Championship Obedience classes now being held in the Pavilion, meaning time constraints have been lifted and there is no need to complete all Obedience judging before 4pm.
Any Society interested in applying for future Championship Obedience status should submit a presentation for consideration. Please note you should also submit your intended show date, it will be necessary to select a date that does not coincide with another Championship Obedience Show.
Applications should include details of the Society’s committee structure and show management team as well as providing information on the proposed Show venue stating the facilities available for judges, competitors, dogs and spectators.
Presentations should be submitted to Miss D Deuchar, Shows, Trials and Awards Department, The Kennel Club, 1-5 Clarges Street, Piccadilly, W1J 8AB and received by 30 June 2007. The successful societies will be informed by the middle of October 2007, although it is appreciated that this will give limited organisation time before the first Championship shows in 2008.
