A well known couple in Smooth Collies were badly injured in a car accident on the evening of Friday 15th June.

Trevor and Birgit Hayward of Foxearth Collies were travelling on the M1 from their home in Shrewbury to Leicester when the accident happened. The couple were on their way to see a litter of puppies. At present it is not known whether any other vehicle was involved. Both were taken to Derby Royal Infirmary where they are receiving treatment for head injuries and a number of broken bones.

They have been transferred from intensive care and are now on ward 13.
