Dog owner fined

A DOG owner was fined last week after his pet attacked two others in the street. The Staffordshire Bull Terrier owned by Melvin Leon Say escaped from his home in Skelmersdale, Lancashire.

This was the second time the dog had escaped as few days earlier it got out but was quickly captured by council dog wardens.

Say, of Holland Moor, has now been prosecuted and Ormskirk magistrates ordered him to pay out a fine and court costs totalling £1,300.

Environment chief Cllr John Baldock said: ‘The majority of dog owners are extremely responsible but for the small minority who let the side down I hope that this case sends out a strong message’.
