Crufts TV programmes took to our screens this weekend with a relaxed and informative approach by presenters who will be at the show this week to help the viewers understand the whole process.
The venue for the pre Crufts programme was Chatsworth House in Derbyshire, the home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire.
It was good to see Crufts Committee chairman Mr Terry Thorn interviewed some time before his recent ill health and to see his wife and this year’s best in show judge Mrs Zena Thorn-Andrews talk frankly of her difficult task ahead.
This year members of the public can vote online for their top dog! For the first time viewers will have the opportunity to decide which dog they would have chosen as Best in show.
Combined with this the BBC website will have a Crufts message board and digital viewers will also be able to access exclusive footage of selective judging throughout the show.
Crufts will be televised on BBC 2 throughout the event but to see the final seven, tune into the programme on Sunday evening between 19.00 and 21.00. Best in show is broadcast live from 20.30.
Online judging will begin at 12.00pm Monday 12 March and close 12.00pm Monday 19 March when the ‘virtual’ Best in Show winner will be announced! Visit www.crufts.org.uk.
