Gordon and Cathy Urquhart put on a brave face and keep smiling!
TWO POPULAR traders at Crufts were once again cursed with bad luck when their van, containing thousands of pounds worth of stock was stolen from the NEC car park.
Gordon and Cathy Urquhart of grooming and care supplies Hub International had already experienced bad luck some months ago when their van was involved in an accident, but had hoped that the bad times were behind them at this year’s show.
Their vehicle was taken some time between 8am and 6pm on Friday March 8th, but interestingly, the NEC’s car parking team did not log it out, which leads the Urquharts to believe that the vehicle was either driven off the perimeter of the site or had its number plates changed.
‘It’s just rotten luck,’ said Gordon. ‘It’s downright unfair after all we’ve had to put up with. But we’re soldiering on. Hopefully we’ll be able to hire a replacement van to get the rest of our stock home after the show and the stock was all insured – but that’s not the point.’
‘We’ll keep on smiling throughout Crufts though,’ added Cathy. ‘Keep smiling or else you’ll cry – that’s what I say.’
The missing vehicle is a white Man 816 van with a tail lift, registration number: AF51 KGG. If anyone has information as to its whereabouts, please contact Mr and Mrs Urquhart at: Unit 5, Manor Farm, Peppard Common, Nr Henley-On-Thames, RG9 5LA. Tel 01491 628355/628897
