THERE was plenty for Alpha Feeds to celebrate at this year’s Scottish Nursery Sheepdog Championships.
Not only did they sponsor the very successful trials but Ian Brownlie who is also supported by the North Nottinghamshire-based company ran out the winner with the two-year-old Jill.
Ian, who won the Scottish National with Bess last year and the Nursery final with Pip in 1998 said: ‘I was very pleased with Jill, she is very responsive and she has a great feel for sheep, which makes the job easier for me.’
As captain, he led the Central Scotland team to a double triumph. His team mates were Neil Campbell, Kathy Freeman, Andy Carnegie and Alan Wilkie.
With over 400 spectators and many dogs to compete against, this championship was far from easy.
Said Ryck Turner of Alpha Feeds: ‘We were delighted with Ian’s success in the championships which prove hugely popular each year.
‘Alpha Feeds products are now more in demand than ever with scientifically formulated recipes to suit all breeds and the feedback we are getting from sheepdog owners and trials competitors is excellent.’
