Kennel Club ‘F’ regulations amended as docking ban bites


At its meeting on 24th April 2007, the General Committee agreed the following amendments to Kennel Club Regulations relating to statements required on the front cover of show schedules, in line with the introduction of the Government’s docking legislation.

Up-to-date specimen schedules are now available on the Kennel Club website and available from the Shows, Trials and Awards Department. The relevant statements should be added to show schedules are soon as practically possible.

On the front outside cover or title page the appropriate statement on the exhibition of docked dogs for the show’s location and status. The various statements are included in the Specimen schedule provided by the Kennel Club.

F(3) Companion Dog Show Regulations, new sub-paragraph 5a;

5.a.That a sign is displayed at the show to include the appropriate statement on the exhibition of docked dogs for the show’s location and status. The various statements are included in the Specimen schedule provided by the Kennel Club.

For ease of reference the various statements are as follows:

a. For shows held in England where the public are admitted on payment of a fee.

The following statement to be included on the front outside cover or title page: ‘A dog docked on or after the 6th April 2007 may not be entered for exhibition at this show.’

b. For shows held in Wales where the public are admitted on payment of a fee.

The following statement to be included on the front outside cover or title page: ‘A dog docked on or after the 28th March 2007 may not be entered for exhibition at this show.’

c. For shows held in England and Wales that do not charge the public for admittance and for all shows held in Scotland and in Northern Ireland.

The following statement to be included on the front outside cover or title page: ‘Only undocked dogs and legally docked dogs may be entered for exhibition at this show.’
