Drug dog on estate as part of NDC initiative
A DRUG detection dog will be carrying out searches on people and in buildings in an area of Coventry as part of a £25,000 initiative.
Eighteen month-old Springer Spaniel Cato will work alongside his handler on the Wood End estate over the next three years thanks to funding from a regeneration project from the New Deal for Communities (NDC) group.
NDC said it was a ‘great opportunity’ for local residents to benefit from an additional level of policing.
It is understood that other NDC groups are looking at similar drug sniffer dog initiatives in crime-blighted estates elsewhere in the country.
