Improved access for the disabled at LKA
Although the NEC has tightened up on all their car parking arrangements during the last year, the LKA has managed to secure improved access for disabled exhibitors to the show on Friday and Saturday, December 7 and 8.
Their special car park will be adjacent to Hall 5 as shown on the site plan on pages 6 and 7 of the show schedule. This car park is for official disabled badge holders only. Buses with wheelchair lifts will operate a shuttle service between this car park and halls 3 and 4 from 7.15am to 6.30pm. The cost of this service will be met by the LKA.
Disabled exhibitors may also use Gate 4.4 (Hall 4) which is a short walk from the disabled car park.
If an overflow car park is required, due to demand, the South Car Park will be used and a further shuttle bus will be provided to Hall 3.
Disabled exhibitors will be able to hire a scooter or wheelchair from Magability which is situated at the Information Booth opposite the entrance to Hall 3. The hire charge for a scooter will be £25 and for a wheelchair £5. These must be booked in advance. The phone number is 01527 837076.
The West Car Park is for all other exhibitors. The location can be seen on the NEC site plan in the schedule. Access to the halls is via the pedestrian underpass.
Parking for judges and stewards will be in the East Car Park from which there will be a shuttle bus service to the main entrance of the NEC. Stallholders will use the South Car Park as before.
All exhibitors should note that other events are being held at the NEC during the LKA’s show weekend.
To help exhibitors the LKA is operating the same split entries closing date as last year. Paper entries to be sent by post MUST carry a Royal Mail postmark of no later than Wednesday, October 17. Those who prefer to enter online may do so at www.dog.biz up to Wednesday, October 24.
