AKC and AKC CHF agree to closer relationship

In New York The American Kennel Club has been informed by the Secretary of the AKC Canine Health Foundation (AKC/CHF) that their Board has accepted the proposal submitted to them by the AKC Board of Directors. The agreement calls for the election of six persons designated by the AKC to the AKC/CHF Board.

AKC will also provide the sum of $750,000 to pay the line of credit liabilities of the AKC/CHF and to establish an operating reserve for the Foundation. Additionally, AKC will provide $500,000 in dollar-for-dollar matched donor funds to the AKC/CHF endowment fund.

The AKC has a dedicated commitment to the success of the AKC Canine Health Foundation. We believe that this new arrangement will ensure the financial stability of the organization and we look f or ward to closer relations with the Foundation so that the success of this valuable organization is ensured.
