Stolen pup returned
WHEN their new puppy was stolen just five days after they bought her, the Anderson family thought they would never see their beloved Sasha again.
But nine days after the Staffordshire Bull Terrier was snatched from their back garden, she has been found dumped more than two miles away.
The terrier was returned home after being taken to the Edinburgh Dogs’ and Cats’ Home, where receptionist Liz Beswick recognised Sasha from her photograph in the Evening News.
The Scottish SPCA said its main concern with stolen Staffordshire Bull Terriers is that they are being cross-bred with other more aggressive terriers to create dogs suitable for vicious fights, which are staged in disused warehouses and farms across the Lothians.
