A British first in semen preservation

Fit And Fertile Ltd has been successful in sending fresh/chilled semen from five stud dogs based in Gloucester to Virginia USA for the purpose of freezing.

Keith Shea, Managing Director, added this was the first time that this procedure has been carried out and he was excited to receive a phone call from the USA based breeder delighted that all had been successful. Vets confirmed that examination of the semen had travelled well and was of good quality.

Ground-breaking

On arrival, the semen was frozen at the Veterinary clinic based in the USA. The period from collection to freezing was four days. Keith reports that this ground breaking achievement which dramatically reduces the cost of freezing and shipping from England to USA and other destinations world-wide has a saving up to 50% of the costs in preparation, freezing and shipping costs.
