Charity seeks home for five rescued greyhounds
A CHARITY that campaigns on behalf of Greyhounds – many of them ex-racers – is desperately looking for a loving home for a very special dog in their care.
Action for Greyhounds does not have kennelling or rescue facilities, as they undertake, as a group, an on -going campaign against the greyhound racing industry. They do, however, always try and help, re-home, or foster greyhounds that they are made aware of, that are in urgent need of help, and have no where else to go.
In June this year, OUR DOGS featured four dogs that were needing ‘forever homes’, as the charity was having to pay private boarding fees for three of the dogs, due to having no where else to place them.
Campaign Co-ordinator Lin told OUR DOGS: ‘We normally rely upon local caring people to foster voluntary, when these dogs come along in urgent need. We then pay for their food and any veterinary costs, which includes neutering, vaccinations, and micro chipping, but on this occasion our few voluntary foster contacts are already full.
I’m so pleased that say, that thanks to the feature in OUR DOGS, three of the Greyhounds featured - Fluke, Bella, and Stella - have all been homed now, although we still have Patch who is waiting patiently for his forever home.
‘Patch is 10 years old, and a very fit strong boy with no medical problems. Would be suited to a homed with no cats, other dogs, or small children. Patch is house trained, neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.
‘he has been with us now for some months, and he really deserves a second chance of life in a 'forever home'.’
If you can help Patch – or any of the dogs in the charity’s care to find a suitable, permanent loving home, please contact Lin via e-mail address: email@example.com
