Wiccaweys Photo Special

The Overall Best In Show was Evan Bevan, who came to Wiccaweys from Ireland a year ago and has overcome great problems to just be bold enough to be out in public. ‘Although still nervous, Evan is 100% better than he was, he's still nervous of men and loud noises... but he is getting better all the time. He's an incredible dog!’ says his owner Bridgette Jamieson who adopted him in May

Thirteen year-old Wiccaweys volunteer hugs Basset 'Daisy' a long-term Wiccaweys resident who was taken in last Christmas when her owners wanted to sell her to buy Christmas presents for their children! After a 'facelift and tummy tuck' (and eyelid operation and neutering) Daisy is now much happier and very much a part of the Wiccaweys team.

The Amazing Spider Staffie and Pumpkin Pup, aka Snatch and Ruby, two senior Staffies who won the Fancy Dress class

Stallholders Samantha and Mark Green of the Dog Star Foundation charity which helps dog owners in Sri Lanka to give their pets necessary veterinary medication and to have them neutered to prevent unwanted strays. The Foundation has also made great strides in its programme of rabies vaccination and has seen a marked reduction in outbreaks of the disease.

Lindsey Simkins with her heroic rescued Collie 'Teddy' who recently alerted Lindsey and her family to a fire in their house whilst they slept. Sadly, Lindsey's other dog died in the blaze, but everyone else escaped unharmed thanks to Teddy's loud bark and persistence in getting everyone up.

Stallholders Marian Rex and Kathy Saffrey were representing the new anti-DDA group Deed Not Breed. Kathy's own dog Mandy helps spread the word.

Some of the Wiccaweys rescue dogs and their owners get together for a group photo!

Overall winner Evan with Sarah Carey and Paul Gill, co-founders of Wiccaweys

Great expectations! Fast dogs and fast food...!
