Aberystwyth & District Canine Society is 100 years old!

Aberystwyth CS, founded in 1908, is celebrating it's centenary with a very special Open Show this Saturday at Plascrug Leisure Centre, Aberystwyth.

The Society invited breed clubs for all scheduled breeds to sponsor prize money, and thanks to the generosity of many clubs there is prize money on offer over a variety of breeds including £20 for Golden Retrievers and Beagles, £15 for Rottweilers, £10 for German Wirehaired Pointers, Lhasa Apso, Labrador Retrievers, Bernese Mountain Dogs, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and £7.50 for Welsh Springer Spaniels.

Local Businesses, exhibitors and individuals have sponsored the amazing sum of £200 for the stakes classes - so there is lots to be won whether you have a puppy, junior, veteran, dog or bitch.

Breeds native to Wales are featured in the show, three classes for each plus the chance to challenge for the new perpetual Welsh Breeds trophy.

All exhibitors can be sure of a very warm welcome and a Centenary gift at the show held in the beautiful seaside town of Aberystwyth.

The society can be contacted at www.aberystwythdcs.co.uk or telephone 01239 810622.
