The delightful Sintra Show took place this year once more on the pretty showground at St Joao das Lampas writes Vince Hogan.

Saturday saw the National Show which was won by the Bassett Hound, ‘Oliver’ owned by the world famous Bassett breeder Jose Mello. The three year old bitch recently won Best of Breed at the World dog show and is already a multi BIS winner.

On Sunday it was the turn of Swedish judge Nina Karlsdotter to award the final place and her BIS choice at the 25th International Show was the Welsh Terrier, Ecco’s Indian Black Diamond owned by Greta Larsen and handled by Hugo.

This year’s entry was a little depleted following the massive entry for the recent Lisbon Show and also the Mediterranean Winners.

But, the International panel of judges were all agreed that it was a great weekend. The panel included Patsy Hollings, Judy Averis, and from Ireland Michael Leonard and Joyce O’Connor.
