KC Educational Trust completes signing of Stoneleigh Agreement
Following lengthy and detailed negotiations, a final agreement has now been signed with the Royal Agricultural Society of England to provide a permanent national and central venue at Stoneleigh for use as an educational, training and canine activity centre.
It will be available for use, for example, for any Kennel Club licensed event for shows, competitions, training, Good Citizen Dog Scheme and Safe and Sound initiatives and for meetings.
The signing was an historic occasion for the Kennel Club Educational Trust, and for the Kennel Club its main benefactor, and leads the way for building work on the project at Stoneleigh to commence.
It is hoped that the building will be completed by the end of the year and information regarding booking, charges etc., will be available soon. Once the project completion date is established, a series of Open Days will be held and details of these will also be provided in the near future.
Regular updates by the Kennel Club Educational Trust and information on the progress of the project will appear on the Kennel Club’s website and in the Kennel Gazette.
Rosemary Smart, a Trustee of the Kennel Club Education Trust and also Chief Executive of the Kennel Club, said:
“We are very pleased with the arrangements we have now agreed with the Royal Agricultural Society of England and believe that the facilities which will be available at Stoneleigh will provide a secure and permanent place for dogs, dog owners and the general public with an interest in dogs.
We plan to use the facility as an educational and canine activity centre. Stoneleigh is for you and for the dog.”
