Rottie foils robbery attempt

TWO WOULD-BE thieves who tried to rob an elderly dog owner got more than they bargained for when his Rottweiler set about them to defend their master. Police said the two robbers who threatened the man in a Suffolk park chose the wrong victim to attack when his dog bit one of them on the leg.

The 69-year-old victim was walking in Gipswick Park in Ipswich when he was approached by two men who demanded money. They threatened violence but the victim's Rottweiler bit one of the attackers on the leg. The attackers, one of them now with ripped jeans, ran off.
