Guide dog trainers find that dogs love classic FM!

THE GUIDE Dogs for the Blind Association has discovered that dogs at its training centres love listening to Classic FM; the music makes them more relaxed and easy to work with!

This discovery was made after leading DAB digital radio manufacturer, PURE, donated six SONUS-1XT DAB digital radios to each of the four Guide Dogs' training schools, located in Bolton, Forfar, Leamington Spa and Woodford Green in Essex.

Jacqui Chapman, from Guide Dogs' fundraising team says: ‘As part of an environmental enrichment project, we were looking to provide a more relaxed atmosphere within our Dog Care Department for the dogs, while they were at rest. We tried a range of stations available on DAB digital radio and Classic FM produced the best results, leaving the dogs chilled out and ready for a new day’s training!’

PURE is donating £1 from the sale of the radios to the charity on an ongoing basis, and has raised a total of £6,000 so far.
