PC and dog injured in car crash

TWO MEN from Kent were arrested last week on suspicion of theft after a head-on collision in Essex which left a police dog handler and his animal injured.

Police in Falcon Road, Grays, spotted a Suzuki car that had been reported stolen in Kent and it was driven off at speed.

It crashed head-on with a dog handler's vehicle and driver PC Mick Finch had to be cut free by fire-fighters. He was taken to Basildon Hospital and his dog Brennan was sedated.

Two men, aged 25 and 21, were arrested on suspicion of theft and other motoring offences.
Mr Finch was still in hospital on Friday last week and Brennan was resting and recovering from minor injuries.
