Vulnerable Breeds exhibition at KC
The Kennel Club Art Gallery is currently planning an exhibition to take place later this year, which will be dedicated to British and Irish vulnerable breeds. Running from 26th August until 14th November 2008 the exhibition will pay tribute to vulnerable breeds by providing visitors with an insight into them and how they have been portrayed in art.
In order to ensure that this exciting and informative display features the very best exhibits, we are asking individuals and societies to contact us if they have paintings, sculpture, photographs or ephemera, for example medals or jewellery, that could be included in the exhibition. The following breeds will be featured in the display: Deerhound, Greyhound, Otterhound, Irish Red & White Setter, Clumber Spaniel, Field Spaniel, Irish Water Spaniel, and Sussex Spaniel, Dandie Dinmont Terrier, Glen of Imaal Terrier, Irish Terrier, Kerry Blue Terrier, Lakeland Terrier, Manchester Terrier, Miniature Bull Terrier, Norwich Terrier, Sealyham Terrier, Skye Terrier, Smooth Fox Terrier, Welsh Terrier, Cardigan Welsh Corgi, Lancashire Heeler, Smooth Collie, English Toy Terrier (Black & Tan)
The KC would be delighted to hear from anyone who feels they have a suitable item for inclusion within this exhibition. Please send details of your possible exhibit, in writing, including a photograph, measurements and details of its provenance, to The Kennel Club Art Gallery, 1-5 Clarges Street, Piccadilly, London W1J 8AB. Alternatively details on possible exhibits can also be e-mailed to artgallery@thekennelclub.org.uk.
