‘Nobody’ does it better!


Two judges Mr James Finlay (Non-Sporting and Best in Show) and Mrs Eileen Jackson (Sporting) had a full day to look over the dogs at the second members show of the year. We were pleased to welcome to the show one of our Patrons, the Governor of Jersey, His Excellency Lt. Gen Andrew Ridgeway CB CBE and his wife Mrs Ridgeway. After a walk round the show ground meeting members of the Club they stopped to watch some of the judging.

The Gundog Group was first in the ring with Ro and Nigel Cox’s Irish Setter, Tiroen True Blue gaining the top honours. Group 2 went to Andrew Baudain’s Labrador Retriever, Rocheby Brigadoon at Beauvoir. Group 3 went to Lynn Jeune’s Clumber Spaniel, Jubilwell Rebel Alliance with Sandra and David Bouchere’s Golden Retriever,Tenfield Raceway getting Group 4. Best Puppy and Novice in Group was Alison Battrick’s Labrador Retriever, Rocheby Blue Orchid For Jancerie. Ro and Nigel Cox’s Irish Setter, Tiroen True Blue getting Best Junior and Yearling in Group and they were also successful by winning Best Brace in Group. Best Veteran went to Lucy Baudains Labrador Retriever, Witherford Bluebell At Beauvoir.

Next into the ring was the Hound Group and Group 1 went to Stuart and Pamela Mottershaw’s Afghan Hound, Nightwind Nobody But Me To Elangeni (IMP). Group 2 was Rob and Kath Gilluley’s Norwegian Elkhound, Bowerhinton Bright N Early JW with Group 3 going to Stuart and Pamela Mottershaw’s Whippet, Barnesmore Let It Be for Elangeni and Group 4 and Best Veteran in Group was Freda Pitman’s Wire Haired Dachshund Cloudside Crystal Clear with Gayteckels. Best Puppy, Junior and Novice in Group was Peter Walker’s Whippet, Cobyco Choice Occasion For Petwalk. Best Yearling in Group was Fiona Officer’s Whippet Eeri Norwegian Wood and she was also successful and won Best Brace in Group with her Whippets.

Last into the Sporting Ring was the Terrier Group with Peter Walker’s Kerry Blue Terrier, Naughty But Nice At KopyKats winning Group 1and Group 2went to Mark Fletcher and Angie Seedhouse’s Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Granitangel Red Giant. Group 3 was Christine and Russel Marett’s Cesky Terrier, Gayteckels Highflyer and Group 4 with Group 4 going to Tom and Ella Stewart’s Border Terrier, Bramblebee Little Big Man, handled by their son Corey. Best Puppy, Junior and Novice in Group was Mark Fletcher and Angie Seedhouse’s Staffordshire Bull Terrier; Granitangel Rough Diamond whilst Tom and Ella Stewart’s Border Terrier, Trawets Bella Ragazza was Best Yearling in Group. Best Veteran was Russell Marett’s Cesky Terrier Gayteckels Highflyer and Christine and Russell Marett were also successful with their Cesky Terriers in the Brace.

In the Non-Sporting Ring the Toy Group was in first with was Pat Dale and Pat Michel’s Pekingese, Ksarina Designers Star Vision taking Group 1. Group 2 went to Julian Scholfield’s Pomeranian, Thelbern Waltzin Matilda At Rudoli and Group 3 was Fiona Officer’s Bichon Frise, Honeyvale Neige Emiette. Group 4 and Best Yearling in Group was Sophie Le Bon’s Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Admirari Rainbow Brite. Best Puppy and Novice in Group was Julian Scholfield’s Pomeranian, Thelbern Dancing Diva With Rudoli whilst Thelma Alsford’s Pomeranian, Thelbern The Role Model was Best Junior in Group.

In the Pastoral Group Carol Pearce’s Border Collie, Tonkory Gin-Fizz At Shalimar was Group 1 with Group 2 going to Bobby and Barbara Lawrence’s Alsatian (GSD), Pewartha Apache Arrow. Group 3 and Best Yearling in Group was Le Couilliard’s Shetland Sheepdog, Shaylin Rainbow Skye and Group 4, Best Puppy and Novice in Group went to Janet Collins’s Australian Shepherd, Allmark Muffin Man. Best Junior in Group was Rachel Martel’s Bearded Collie, Vilmorin Sihouette. Bobby and Barbara Lawrence’s Alsatian (GSD), Penwartha Silver Shadow was Best Veteran in Group and they were also successful with their Alsatians in the Brace.

Taking top honours in the Utility Group was Peter Walker’s Lhasa Apso, Khalila Justin Credible For Petwalk with Robert and Katherine Bisson’s Japanese Spitz, Leymun Kami Tako gaining Group 2. Group 3 was Sarah Cooper’s Shih Tzu, Harropine New York City Boy At Zafonic and Group 4 was Brian and Sally Le Rousseau’s Bulldog, Shiloh High And Mighty At Dimkas. Best Puppy, Junior, Yearling and Novice in Group was Carol Smither’s Toy Poodle, Meantmore Loiter N The Wings.
The Working Group was won by Margaret Bayes’s Boxer, Docrema Mystic Meg whislt her Docrema My Boy Madge was Best Yearling in Group.

Joined

Best Puppy and Novice in Show went to Julian Scholfield’s Pomeranian, Thelbern Dancing Diva With Rudoli whislt Reserve Best Puppy in Show was Alsion Battrick’s Labrador Retriever, Rocheby Blue Orchid For Jancerie. Best Junior in Show was Ro and Nigel Cox’s Irish Setter, Tiroen True Blue. Best Veteran in Show was Pat Dale and Pat Michel’s Pekingese, Ksarina Desingers Dream Pd'H whilst Reserve Best Veteran in Show went to Russell Marett’s Cesky Terrier, Gayteckels Highflyer. Best Brace in Show went to the Alsatian (GSD’s), Penwartha Silver Shadow and Penwartha Apache Arrow belonging to Bobby and Barbara Lawrence.

Eileen Jackson then judged the end of show classes; Special Vintage went to Mark Fletcher and Angie Seedhouse’s Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Granitangel Haglers Pride; Winner of the Champion’s Class was Kate Davidouska’s Labrador Retriever, Pol CH Thurbajens Just The Job. The Walter Wilcox Trophy for Best Channel Islands Bred Adult went to Ro and Nigel Cox’s Irish Setter, Tiroen True Blue whilst the Sinatt Trophy for Best Channel Islands Bred Puppy was won by Carol Smither’s Toy Poodle, Meantmore Loiter N The Wings. Les Crapaud Stakes was won by Rob and Kath Gilluley’s Norwegian Elkhound, Bowerhinton Bonanza. The Handling classes were judged by Ro Cox. Winning the 6-11 age group was Corey Stewart; 2nd David Knight and 3rd Jamie Connet.

In the 12-16 age group 1st was Sophie le Bon and 2nd Joanna Kennedy. Corey Stewart was Best Overall Junior Handler and Sophie Le Bon was Runner up. The Senior entrants were put through their paces with Russell Marett narrowly beating his mother Christine (his Sunflower didn’t wilt!)
