Labradors in Russia
Janet Cole of Stajantor Labradors judged the Russian Championship Labrador Retriever Club in Moscow on Sunday 25th May 2008 in a large complex with other breeds. There were 213 Labradors entered. This was one of the largest entries the club had had.
The standard was outstanding and many excellents were awarded and every dog had a written critique. Judging started at 10.00am and finished at 7pm. The judging of the dogs was done in colours. Best in Show was the chocolate pictured with the rosette My Mascot Tory, of Russian breeding. Best Yellow was Penny Royal’s Dutch Tulip, who had been imported from Holland and Best Black Faust Royal, who had travelled three days on a train from Siberia.
The hospitality from the Russian Labrador Retriever Club was wonderful. An interpreter accompanied Janet throughout her trip of four days to Russia. During which she was taken to the Kremlin, Red Square, Lenin Tomb, and the Bolshoi Ballet making this a real memorable trip not only dogwise but also a spectacular architecture and the way of life in Modern Russia.
