Artist’s latest model is ex-Battersea rescue dog Lolly

In November 2007 art dealer Elinor Olisa and her partner visited Battersea Dogs home in search of a new companion and office dog. They left with Lolly, a five-year-old white and brown Staffordshire Bull Terrier, who had been brought in several months earlier in a sorry state.

LollyLolly, who is the most loveable of dogs with a loyal personality, made a full recovery and settled in straight away in her new home and at work in the art gallery - DegreeArt.com on Vyner Street.

Real life lollyShe not only provides an extremely friendly welcome to all visitors, but has proved to be a great sales woman assisting with viewings and helping curate shows of recently graduated artists. It was not long after she arrived that she met Kate Marshall a fine art graduate from Goldsmith’s College in London who is one of the gallery’s best selling young artists.

Kate and Lolly instantly bonded and the artist, recognising Lolly’s potential agreed to create a portrait capturing her likeness in paint and charcoal. The result was a beautiful painting showing Lolly in all her glory.

Lolly can be seen at many Private Views where she is often the star of the show. Kate Marshall can be commissioned and her work is available on www.DegreeArt.com.
