Pit Bull seized in raid

A PIT Bull Terrier which police suspected of biting a man’s arm was seized during two raids on houses of suspected dangerous dog owners in Hampshire.

The man needed two operations and was in hospital for four days after the attack in Southampton in May.

Officers raided addresses in Shirley and Swaythling on June 19th and seized two dogs, including the Pit Bull which was signed over to police and put down.

The other dog was returned to its owner. A 19-year-old man was arrested and later bailed. He was held on suspicion of offences under the Dangerous Dogs Act.
